JM Donnelly

Having graduated with an LL.B in Irish law, Ms. Donnelly chose to specialise in aviation law. She graduated with an LL.M degree from Sheffield University in 2010 having completed a thesis in the area of public international air law.

She subsequently pursued research for a Ph.D degree (not yet completed) at the Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University focusing on themes in the area of private international air law. She underwent training at the Training and Development Institute of the International Air Transport Association in Geneva in 2009 and 2010 acquiring Certificates of Accomplishment in Aircraft Financing and Acquisition and Airline Contract Law. She has participated in training courses run by the Finuas Aviation Network.

She completed her training as a barrister at the King’s Inns in Ireland in 2006 and subsequently travelled to New Zealand where, in 2010, she completed her training as a New Zealand solicitor and barrister. She set up JMD Aviation Lawyers in August 2014.

She has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, predominantly in the area of aviation law. She is deeply committed to human rights and worked as a volunteer for Amnesty International for a number of years.
